There was an article in the paper talking about the top 3 and worst 3 neighbours people would want living beside them, Sarah Palin made both lists. I can’t see why people would think she is a good neighbour to be beside. Probably swing by over the house in a helicopter shooting gophers and such. I am still in awe that people would do such a thing, there isn’t really any skill needed in shooting an animal that is grazing in a field from a helicopter, they would have more of a challenge shooting clay ducks and such. It’s not like the animal understands that it is being shot at or what the consequences are, it is running away because it is familiar of predators that bite and claw, not shoot a projectile from a distance using a boom stick. The animal would run away with the same intelligence and determination of a 5 year old in a mall. That can be a sport I can back. Have a shooting range in a store and when a 5 year old gets separated from it’s parent it can be open season, after the first shot it will run making the subsequent shot that much more exciting, will it find cover behind a trash-can or behind an uncrossable fountain or will it run straight down the hall making it an easy kill. Could even bait a clearing in the mall with an ice cream cone on the floor or a lollipop or some deer pee. It has to be just as challenging as shooting a deer afterall. If you want to do it from a helicopter well then you’d have to do it in the parking lot of a power centre, Chuckee Cheese would be a feeding ground for it. I hope I don’t get banned from the mall now, but it will be OK because I have an ice cream maker, yum yum.
Chris was driving along on the highway and we spot a truck towing a trailer. Ice was blowing off the top of the trailer as it was getting up to highway speed on the 407 so he stays back from it in case there was more ice. As we are about to change lanes from being behind him to get off the highway there is a sudden explosion on the driver side of the trailer, yellow insulating foam and wood is everywhere. As we pass the truck we realize what has happened as we see the bed of the pickup for the first time. I thought at first that maybe part of the trailer broke off and splintered into pieces as it hit the highway going 100. As we see the bed of unsecured windows with frames in the bed of the truck it becomes clear that the wind that was catching the ice off of the roof of the trailer caught one of the windows and the lip of the window frame and tossed it up high enough so that it’s centre of gravity would allow it to spill over on to the highway. At least the driver noticed and pulled over. Not sure what he could do since there didn’t appear to be any straps in the truck, if he had tehm he would have used them, right? I wonder if he was brave enough to go out there with a push broom and try to sweep up all the broken glass fragments and splintered wood as it littered lanes 2 and 3 of the 407. The rest of my week has been uneventful. Cleaning a fishtank with a gravel vacuum and a 30′ plastic hose takes a lot of wet prep time and patience, and it doesn’t have as much suck power in the gravel as the 5 foot hose.
I had a dream last night, a really weird one. For some reason Children’s services came to to someone’s house on the insistance of their neighbour and took away one of the kids, the kid had a duck’s bill for a nose/mouth. It wasn’t a weird genetic fluke as I found out later in my dream but rather because a duck was the father of the child, ie the mom did a duck. The kid finished university and got married. Fairly weird dream, I think my mind was a bit awake for this dream b/c I think I was able to control parts of it. I would assume I wanted to see what a duck billed person looks like but who knows.
In other news Stella and Gweeker were a sleep most of the day upstairs right next to each other, nice to know that they are learning to tolerate each other, or at least keep each other warm. We will hit quite the turning point when Gweeker jumps up next to Stella to lie down.
My eyes are soar and I need to do some work stuff. First I shall go to Manchu Wok for cheapish chicken wrapped in a sauce that I find delight in. I wish we lived closer to Noodle Hut, or that I had the time and knowledge to turn that nodle stuff in the cupboard into cooked noodle stuff on a plate covered with sugary sauce and tiny chicken pieces that don’t taste like normal home made chicken.
My fishtank is full of a poisonous concoction of nitrates and gold fish poo, I really should ditch the goldfish but I dont have anywhere to put them. I started cleaning up and doing water changes regularly last month but the nitrates were very high to begin with so it will take some time to bring it down. Today with having my arm in water and going outiside 3 times and then bringing the hose from the garage my body did not like all the temperature changes and I felt sick, almost to the point of throwing up, and almost to the point of just shivering non stop. I couldn’t seem to warm up anymore. Even a shower didn’t help, I did fill up the tub and got most of me in it and that did help, although my stomach was still very turney. After almost falling a sleep I felt a lot better, and getting out of the tub is a pain, I am way too tall for it. Die Hard 3 also helped.
I got to eat at Wildwings the other day for Laura’s Birthday (happy Birthday) and it was pretty good, Jay has been raving about the place and trying to get people to go for a while, only downside is that it is more expensive then other places on their wing night’s oh well. I want to have a taco day, it would be delicious because of all of the tacos involved.
