Oakville was nice

but I sure don’t want to live there. Well at least not the part I saw of it, I also travelled through what I think is old Milton Downtown, it is pretty boring. So there was traffic on the 401 and the lanes were closed for a bit so we decided to try to get to work through some other roads through Milton to get to the 407. Was that ever a bad idea, well maybe it was a good idea, it is hard to judge if you actually saved time since you can’t tell really if the 401 traffic really moved. I’m sure it did but they were announcing that the traffic was backed up even further than where we were when we crossed the 401 on the 407. It was fun though, I got to see trees and a brokeback mountain cowboy. At one stop light only two cars were getting through each light rotation so we just kept heading south until traffic seemed to be moving until we found a quiet windy road that had a bridge built for one car, the top of the bridge wasn’t pavement but wood. The scenerey and the houses around there were nice but but it was completely in the middle of nowhere. This is about where the bridge was.

It was pretty funny watching John wake up and look around trying to figure out where he was. Oh well.

Today we dine on poutine, it is what my darling wants so I shall hunt it down and kill it and we will feast. Now what to do for the weekend? I say party!

So tired

I liked setting off all of the boomsticks, that was fun. Pinballs and Fish are cool. Same price as at Forwell’s. I liked the Fish one more, the packaging described it as shooting fish and I needed to see what that was all about.

It is about 8 now and I am in bed and I wouldn’t be surprised if I just fell asleep right now, I slept a bunch on Monday but it was obviously not enough. I was yawning through a meeting at work no matter how hard I tried to stop. I think that may be partially to blame that it went during 2 pm. And it is very difficult to find an article detailing why someone naturally gets sleepy at 2 in the afternoon. The Kitty just strentched and plunked his head down on the mattress, I think he is out. He ran outside three different times today. The first two times he heards crows crowing and that scared him to make him run across the neighbours yard back into the house. The third time happened when some kids were making noise.

Kathy has a new mattress coming her way on Saturday, not the best mattress by any means but it should be good enough for 1-2 years. I didn’t shave again, I do not look very professional. Oh for those who have a computer in another room and want to access it or use programs from it remotely, tightvnc is dirt easy to use and rocks. Just google it but I think it is tightvnc.com. I now put blank cds in the computers incase I want to d/l something on to that computer and than burn it there, so handy. Now I need to figure out how to access it from other locations. I hope I remember to bring everything I need to bring tomorrow, my camera wants to take pictures of ducks. I should post some pictures soon!

Weird

I was walking with kathy home in Waterloo and this guy said “Donny, is that you?” He was my neighbour over 20 years ago. I apparenlty still look like a 5 year old. I’m surprised he remembered me since I don’t remember playing with the neighbourhood kids much and he looked to be about my age. Weird. I was a bit freaked out over it. It has been quite a while since I have written, I am sorry journal.

Today Kathy and I purchased a mattress, just a cheaper one to get us by for a year or two since the room is rather small. We also sat on the Swedish memory foam bed, my god, it is so soft and comfortable. I think it was around 3500 or so. We also went to St. Jacobs, didn’t really buy anything but did wander around a lot. The video game store didn’t want to pull out the box with the other PS1 games, just like what happened with Chris last year. It turns out there wasn’t anything in there. They had Ogre Battle 64 for 150 bucks, nothing else though. I did get a jumping spider though, yay, Kitty will have fun with that. The other day Kathy came by earlier and played and petted him for a solid hour, as soon as the door opened and I came in he immediately left her, meowed, and trotted over to me. Kitty loves me more.

I played DDR a bit today, I am so out of shape, I was sweating hard after a few rounds, I need to lose my gut.

Victoria Day is coming up and I got boomsticks. A lot of the neighbours have been firing off stuff every night.

So many lost memories already. Work has been well and I have been getting up a bit earlier since I have been staying at Kathy’s place more.

Today we also went and saw the cute and cuddly little baby rabbits at Waterloo Park and just wandered about in general a lot. It has been a good day.

All that and a plate of ice cream cake

Kathy had her birthday yesterday, was lots of fun, I just wish it went longer, damn work and well society requiring money to live in it. We went to the noodle hut which is near school, they have some very delicious chicken balls, soooo good. They don’t take debit, just cash and One Card. The chicken balls were good. After we walked over to DQ and got a birthday cake, I was going to bring one over when I came but Kathy was hanging out at school instead of at home. All was good though. For an extra 4 bucks you can get the larger size cake, we only had to pay 3 more because it was a dollar off.

Yes I try to be cheap.

I have not been eating my lunch at work much lately, sometimes I’d just have one sandwich, sometimes, like the last two days, I just forget to eat. I’d only really notice that I am hungry by the end of the day and by than it’d be too late. I have to remember to bring my DS tomorrow since I will have to stay a little bit later for a meeting and than I am staying much later since John is going jogging after.

I can’t believe how much time flies sometimes, I don’t feel like I have been home for very long and it is already 8, than again I did go to wopper Wednesday and than looked and shopped a bit at the dollar store. That reminds me I have a cheque that I need to cash.

Kitty got in trouble, at some time in the morning he decided to jump on top of the fridge. I never knew he could do that, hell I have only seen him jump up on the counter three times. I don’t know what he was doing up on the fridge but it seems that when he went to jump down his tail may have knocked over a vase with a narrow bottom making it break on the floor below. Kitty stood next to it after with one ear forward and another backwards meowing until my parents came. I don’t think they were too pleased.

He was apparently very whiney yesterday afternoon as well. Since I went straight to see Kathy without stopping by first he kept running around looking for me expecting me to show up soon. He just loves me. When I did get home around 12.30 he meowed and snuggled up in bed with me and used my elbow as a pillow until I rolled over.

I may be seperated from Kathy for a whole week, maybe longer in May since I don’t feel comfortable asking for time off right when I start in a new Dept. Someone else in the area has the week off as well so I don’t think it would have been wise anyhow. Hopefully Kathy will get her summer schedule soon and we can go during the summer at some point.

I need to get some sleep, in the morings I just pass out in exhaustian when going to work.

Yawn

Work is fun and good. I think I’d still prefer to get money without having to do anything but oh well. What a busy week and I didn’t even update once, and of course I probably forgot about most of what has happened to me. My disgusting nieces have not only coated my gameboy SP in chocolate but they have also done the same to some of my cds, good thing I didn’t delete those files as well. I got a cute little tri pod but I haven’t used it yet. I need to get a little level guage and duct tape it onto it. I thought it was just a small little desk tri pod but it is actually extendible up to 40 “, I didn’t realize until after I took it home. Last week Food Basics had cheese on sale so we adventured over there to aquire said milk product. While there we discovered that somebody stole some pork. Not the packaging for the pork though, they stole the meat inside and left behind the packaging.

When Chris saw that picture in my Camera he immediately realized what store we were at. He found the same thing but this time the missing item was in the zip lock bag aisle instead of the cookie aisle. Than we drove home. Driving with Kathy is an electric experience with swaying lights. I dislike our Sunday night ritual where I take her home and say good night to her at some point in time. If only I didn’t require sleep, some day this shall happen. Or better yet someday I won’t have to say good bye on Sunday night but rather good night. I look forward to the day. Yesterday night a feast was held, well sort of, I was hungry and didn’t eat chineease earlier in the day. Didn’t really matter since I would have been hungry by that point in time at night. Brokeback Montanas has really good and filling nachos. I still feel large from eating them. Lots of beans and assorted items were heaped all over them in a delicious manner. Actually all the food served to us that night looked good enough to eat. There water tastes like ass, even a lollipop stick wasn’t able to fix that and the lemon wedge that was in there would have wilted away and died if it stayed in there. I tossed it into the nearest drink to me that wasn’t my drink, since the nearest drink to me was mine. While at Montana’s I heard stories about strippers and unexpected birthday parties. Not many of us at teh table remembered much from our Geography courses, namely put a legend on your map so people from any time can read and understand your map. This map could have been an archeological find of where some concrete barriers once existed. We than entertained our selves taking pictures of our twins and well making out with fish.

Sleep

I have been so sleepy this week. I need my hour back and I seem to not be able to get it back. I am very tired in the morning as well. Thank da lord I only had to drive once this week, I don’t know how but I am sure I’d drive into a tree on the 401. I have worked for a week in my new job, I like it so far, I just am not 100% sure what I am suppose to be doing since everyone has been busy preparing for high level meetings. Next week should run smoother.

I don’t know really what to say, I am lying in bed right now because I am too damn tired to do anything else really.

I met up with Kathy mid week and we feasted on Whoppers on Wednesday, she has an exam Saturday so I will be doing her laundry and such so she can focus. Her room is quite a mess.

Upgraded

When I first got my iBook I didn’t get the additional Ram because of the expense but after almost 4 years I finally have, yay. I was actually contemplating not getting it since this computer also needs a new battery. Well I guess it doesn’t need a new battery but the current one only lasts for about 10 minutes. Now it has about 640 MB of RAM and it is flying once again, as much as it can I guess. I got to have a good look at the new MacBook Pros and my god are they thin.

I am still hunting for a camera. I think I may choose either a Canon S2 or a S3 when it comes out. Maybe, I am not 100% sure yet but they are my most likely bet, at least at this time. It is hard reading the review sites since just about every camera that isn’t a SLR it says it has too much noise over 200 ISO. I think that it would only be noticable if printing stuff large or viewing at 100% on the screen. The only ones that seem to avoid this doom is Digital SLRs which are just way more than I want to spend, and much larger than I would really like to carry around. Panasonic has a really neat camera that also allows for manual focus but apparently all of their camers have terrible noise due to the chip they use. My eyes are bad so I shouldn’t be doing manual focus anyways. Also it uses a proprietary battery which I want to stay away from. In Guelph I can get 4 rechargable AAA batteries for under 5 bucks, I’m sure they carry AA for the same price if not better. The place is Tri Star Trading on Dawson Road if you were curious.

I finished work in my dept Friday, it was bittersweet for me. I am sad to leave, especially my old boss since she was the one who hired me and I guess took a chance on me since my skills at interviiews rather suck. I’m nervous going into the new area since I fear that I may stumble since I will have to learn a large variety of tasks and new systems in a short time. I will continue on with my attitude though, make sure I do my job to the best of my abilities and to increase my abilities to make damn sure that they never regret hiring me, not even for a moment. I finished up all of my tasks in the previous area, so hopefully the person who is taking over won’t screw up stuff that badly and blame it on me or something.

Yesterday I dragged Kathy with me around to a few stores to look at cameras, we did get a few pens for her, she does love her Uniball’s. We also got Tetris DS. That game is frustrating, mostly because I suck at it but shit. Kathy seemed to be able handle the game easily and handicapped herself to keep things competitive but I kept on losing. I felt like throwing my DS across the room. Shi-at. I was tempted to get Yoshi’s island now that they reduced the price on it but I just don’t feel like playing anything anymore.

Now my hands are idle, I don’t feel like playing with clay, I don’t have anything Buick related to write about, don’t really have anywhere to go, gas is expensive, and Kathy is busy studying so I don’t want to go heading out to places with her. What the hell am I going to do? I have to pick out stuff since I really want to set up my old pc as a RAID storage area and such but that can wait until the funds come in.

Albino possums terrorize me

Sunday night when driving Kathy home I thought at first I was seeing either a really weird looking dog or some sort of giant albino vermin but instead it was an albino possum. http://www.visualsunlimited.com/browse/vu214/vu214000.html is an example of such a creature but this one was not a baby, still very weird looking.

Today kitty saw a chipmunk feasting on some seeds I left out side the sliding door and the cat was ready to attack. The chipmunk either knew the cat couldn’t get him through the glass or didn’t notice but Kitty wanted to go outside and hunt this fierce predator. I grabbed Kitty into my arms and let him out the door in the kitchen. The chipmunk stopped oving when he heard the door open so Kitty didn’t see him because of the lack of movement. When he was about to dart to the fence n the corner of his eye the chipmunk tok off. The cat than walked to where the seeds were and rolled in them, heh.

Oh kitty, how I love you. Yesterday he got in trouble. He decided to jump on the shelves supporting the booze and than sniffed the ceiling and stretched his paw out to a nearby clock to either see if it could support his weight and jump on it or to just knock it down, he got yelled at promptly.

Work has become annoying lately, just a lot of buggering and knit picking over stupid things that some are too dumb to know the answer to or are just confused, bah. I think the person replacing me is complaining some more. I am just trying to get everything done perfectly with minimal work transferred to them so they can’t make a stink and say I left the stuff in ruins.

Getting to work was fun with a giant pickup going into my lane in front of me and than slowing down immediately because they are about to miss their exit, scarier still was seeing the big white pickup behind me dive into the lane tey just vacated because they were following too closely. People need some sort of license to drive a car.

I have gone to a few more stores looking at cameras and I am at a greater loss over which camera I should select. A lot of reviews say that the Panasonics leave too much noise over ISO100 but than some go on to say that is true for all similiar cameras and only true digital SLRs can overcome that. I’m so confused, of course most stores only have a lil picture as evidence of what kind of picture the camera can produce. I hate how some use a special battery, for a camera i need spares, a lot of people spend too much time reviewing pictures.

Kathy and I are still planning a vacation together in May or June to her parents’ place, we may stay for a night in London at Western since they use their dorms as a hotel for the summer. We wanted to look at the school a bit, this will let us be nice and close. While looking for touristy stuff in London I found a crystal chapel there that does weddings in an hour but also has a Drive Thru wedding service. They are apparently trying to emulate Vegas chapels by their own admission. My only question is where is Elvis! I joked with Kathy that we should mention this place to her Grandma before saying we are off to London see you soon.

My cat smells like snails

Just as I was writing an IM saying the cat was looking inside my fishtank looking for the water, he falls in. There was just water at the bottom with the rocks. He didn’t want me to help him out and he did jump footsies, he is so cute when he does that. Even after 10 minutes when he went into the other room his feet was still wet, I had to dry them off for him.

I spent a glorious weekend with Kathy. It still saddens me everythime Sunday night rolls around and I have to leave her warm embrace. We wnt to the Fr!nge festival at Laurier, some of the plays weren’t as funny as last year’s but it was pretty fun none the less. Between shows we were feeling lazy so we took the bus to the mall to eat at the food court, she was craving chinease, the Manchu Wok, and I had Mozza Burgers but we ended up splitting our meals between us. On Friday we had some Korean food, the chicken teriyaki was very good, I had some of the maki sushi, it was pretty good and priced well. It was in the plaza with New Orleans, I don’t recall the name of the place. You can tell it is authentic when Kathy and I were the only white people in there.

We wnt a little dollar store shopping at Dollarama where we got some nifty chop sticks, pretty light weight with good grips. I shall not drop a grain of rice again. Oh Henry Eggs are a god send, yum, they are like fat little Oh Henry Bars.

I think I am showing more confidence at work, I think it is just more bitterness coming through giving more snap answers without hesitation. Whatever does the trick.

I still haven’t molded anything out of my clay yet, I should but I just haven’t been ‘inspired’ yet and felt like getting off the sofa at the same time. Chuck Norris ate a sofa and shitted out a love seat and an armchair.

I need to take more pictures or at least adjust them better in photoshop afterwards. For those that are curious, gallery has some pictures, right now it just has Kathy’s brother and sister when they were here visiting us and some butterfly pictures.

My eyes are tired

The house smells very lemony fresh and it just burns my eyes. I am so tired.

Let us see. Kathy came back Thursday night with her brother and sister and we proceeded to go all around town doing stuff. Most of the stuff we did do was not very interesting, we did go walk downtown Kitchener, I know exciting. I did drive through the village of St Jacob for the first time, not much to see there. I got some pictures taken at the Wings of Paradise butterfly place, Those critters really liked landing on the red lining of my Olympic hoodie. I haven’t seen the pictures yet but I hope they turned out well, I am afraid though that most are blurry since they were taken in the hand without a flash. The train going home for them was delayed by 3 hours and 20 minutes, mostly because a freight train on the tracks in front of them broke down and I think they had to wait for other freight trains to go by and such.

Kitty was a good kitty for the visitors, and he was happy because everybody visited him in the basement. He than attacked a rubber snake and really went all out getting a laser light.

Having that day off felt really nice and good. It just felt so right laying next to Kathy with eachother in our arms waking up together. Blinking softly in the morning light kissing gently as our eyes grow more awake. It is such a great feeling, I miss it.
